The Farmers are Busy!

On our walk this morning we found out that the farmers had been busy cutting the hay, made walking alot easier this morning!!! Couldn't resist getting a photo of Lucy on one of the bales, had to be quick though she was ready to jump!!!!

The photo of the butterfly has been altered in Photoshop Elements (surprise, surprise!!!) with some textures added to it. Today's lesson was trying to put a few things we've learnt over the last week together, unfortunately couldn't do the text/overlay as she had forgotten to give us the download!!! Hopefully can finish it tomorrow.

Still learning!

Today's Photoshop Elements class was about burning the edges of your photos, I did do the tutorial but don't think its a look that I particularly like so don't think I'll be using it!!! So been playing around with some more frames and borders!!
Work today, then just one more day on Friday for me then holidays!!! Hoping to stay at home tomorrow and do some scrapping, although the cupboards are bare and the dog is out of dried food!!!
Been looking at the Twitter site and searching for people I like!!! Found Stephen Fry's twitter and hes got some funny comments. Also been stalking Tom from Mcfly!!!!! (Kim's idea, not mine!!!).

Monday

This is the last week of school and then the seven weeks of the summer holidays start. Because I work in a school at lunchtimes I get seven weeks off as well!!!

Been busy doing the Jessica Sprague Photoshop Elements classes. Today's was about Type, I have combined a few lessons on the photos today!! Have been searching for some more frames and found these Rhonna Ferrer ones.

Sunday Neil and I went out to New Buckenham for a walk with Lucy. Unfortunately the Common we wanted to go on had lots of cattle on so didn't want to risk walking on there so we ended up crossing the road and walking along the Tas Valley Way which was abit boring and no nice photo opportunities.

Relaxing Weekend (so far!)

Been busy on the computer today learning some more about Photoshop which has been really slow work as our computer is terrible at the moment and its very frustrating when it takes minutes to open a photo!!! I managed to finish a layout this afternoon. I used a sketch from the Pencillines blog a couple of weeks ago I think it was. The photos are some of the ones that I've taken of the wild flowers seen out on our many walks!!

Went to the allotment last night with Neil, while he was picking some peas I was looking for a barn owl that had been spotted flying around the adjacent field but I didn't see it last night. Did take a piccie of our plot. The flowers on our onions are enormous. We have tons of peas coming through, the courgettes are now growing steadily (yellow and green ones), potatoes are ready, the corn is growing well and our squash is flowering.

How Hill Mini Book

I finished my mini book using the photos taken last weekend at How Hill. I painted the chipboard with vintage white paint (cream!) and used my Bind it All to put it altogether and used a mixture of leftover bits and pieces to embellish.

In between work and washing I've been trying to finish the mini book on How Hill I started this week, nearly there and then I'll take some photos to show you.

Day Four: Clipping Masks

Just done the tutorial for Day 4: Clipping Masks - A clipping mask is basically a shape - any shape - that you can "clip" your photo onto, to cause your photo to conform itself to that shape. The shape that we used today was just a basic rectangle one but you get the idea, hopefully!!

Been a very busy day today. This morning I had to take Alex to his 6th Form College to have an interview with the 6th Form Head and to pick up his timetable for his classes in September. He has some classes at Taverham and some at Hellesdon with a school buses to get him there and back. His timetable though is a nightmare. For example on a Tuesday he has Pyschology at Hellesdon then back to Taverham for Classics, then back again to Hellesdon for Philosophy and then back home to Taverham, and alot of the days are like that. I can see that my taxi services will be used alot, good job the 6th Form is only about ten minutes away.
After that it was back to Taverham to pick up some of Alex's friends and I then drove them to Eccles on Sea a little seaside place near Sea Palling on the North Norfolk Coast. Took about an hour. They are all staying there the night, about 15 teenagers!!! I had Lucy in the car and we drove to Sea Palling and had a lovely walk along the beach and the dunes armed with my new camera (of course!!). Lucy even had a play on the sand with a huge Great Dane and I mean huge, he was only eleven months old and still growing, his name was Merlin!
